Introduction to the Roller Cone Bits of Central Asia Machinery Manufacturing Group
- The tricone bits produced by Central Asia Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. are known for their relatively comprehensive variety within the industry and enjoy a good reputation in the market. The company has a flexible market adaptation mechanism, enabling it to provide domestic and international customers with products of stable quality and reliable performance in a timely manner, along with excellent pre-sales and after-sales services. The company is willing to accept customer orders in various ways and through various channels. Additionally, it can undertake custom processing based on customer-provided designs or collaborate on the development of related products.
Tricone Bit

*Structure and Working Principle of Tricone Bits**
The tricone bit is composed of a shell, legs (also known as arms), cones, bearings, nozzles (also known as water holes), and a lubrication seal compensation system. The upper part of the shell is threaded to connect with the drill string. The lower part of the shell is welded with legs, which are equipped with cone shafts. The cones are mounted on the cone shafts and are fitted with teeth to break the rock. Bearings are installed between the cones and the cone shafts to lock the cones and bear the load. The nozzles (or water holes) serve as channels for drilling fluid. The lubrication seal compensation system stores and supplies grease to the bearing chamber, preventing drilling fluid from entering the bearing chamber and avoiding grease leakage.
(1) **Cones**: The cones are forged from alloy steel and are conical in shape. The cone surface is either milled with teeth (referred to as milled tooth bits) or fitted with hard alloy teeth (referred to as insert bits). The interior of the cone has bearing raceways and shoulders. The cone surface has two or more tapers. A single-taper cone consists of a main taper and a back taper, while a multi-taper cone consists of a main taper, secondary tapers, and a back taper. Some cones have two secondary tapers.
(2) **Teeth**: Currently, tricone bits produced domestically and internationally are divided into two categories based on the material of the teeth: milled teeth (also known as steel teeth) and insert teeth (also known as hard alloy teeth).
Milled Teeth (also known as Steel Teeth)

- High-quality alloy steel is used to produce the legs and cones.
- The legs and cones are overlaid with high-quality hard alloy layers to ensure the bit has sufficient strength during operation.
- The floating bearings are made of materials with high strength, high elasticity, high temperature resistance, and high wear resistance.
- The oil passage holes in the bearings are enlarged to ensure better lubrication.
- Steel balls are used for locking, enabling the bit to adapt to high speeds.
In addition to specially added gauge protection and trimming teeth, the shape of the steel teeth and the overlay welding materials have also been improved
Insert Tricone Bit

High-quality alloy steel is used to produce the legs and cones.
High-strength, premium hard alloy is used for the cutting teeth.
The legs are inlaid with hard alloy and overlaid with hard alloy layers to ensure the bit maintains its diameter during drilling.
The floating bearings are made of materials with high strength, high elasticity, high temperature resistance, and high wear resistance.
A new type of lubricant that can withstand temperatures up to 250 degrees Celsius and has low wear is used, enhancing the high-temperature resistance and lubrication capabilities of the bit’s sealing and lubrication system.
The design of the tooth rows, tooth count, tooth exposure height, and unique alloy shape has been optimized to fully utilize the bit’s cutting ability and cutting speed.
Single Cone Bit

- The single cone bit is primarily suitable for small borehole drilling operations, such as window sidetracking and deepening old wells.
- The bit uses a two-stage gauge protection system, with active cutting gauge teeth and passive wear-resistant gauge teeth embedded in the bit body.
- The cone’s teeth are arranged in a staggered pattern, and the cone’s shape, number of tooth rows, tooth count, and exposure height have been optimized.
- The hydraulic system adopts a main and auxiliary nozzle structure, with optimized nozzle designs for water jetting and diffusion cleaning.
- The bearing bore of the leg is overlaid with wear-resistant alloy, which enhances the bearing’s lifespan.
- Steel balls are used to lock the cone, allowing the bit to adapt to high rotational speeds.
